is this the life??
"If you pass your exams and go to campus, life will be a walk in the park' .These were the words of my former principal in high school who always encouraged us to join university.
joining campus in Kenya seems like a big achievement especially if you are from the village where maybe one or two have managed that feet. I was more than eager to report to the Technical University of Mombasa as a freshman , I knew deep down that I had made it and I couldn't wait to start life as a comrade, as they so say.i really wanted to walk this park where studies was easy and making friends was a piece of cake, especially the opposite gender.
As a freshman in a new university, all eyes were on me as I ventured into a new environment full of people. It was upto me to choose the kind of click you would like to associate with around the school premises. The kind of people you make friends with definitely determine your life in campus.
But for me this has been a journey full of misery , mostly due to the overwhelming work of studying, accompanied by the lack of finance to keep me running in school, I surely wish to meet my principal and ask him whihc university he was specifically talking about because mine is a whole opposite world compared to his words back then.
